Catherine Leduc
For the past twenty years or so, Catherine Leduc has been contributing—at her own pace—to the unique musical edifice she is building: a precise soundscape that is as vast as it is intimate. Breaking an eight-year hiatus from recording, she returned last year with Les jours où il neige à tous les postes, a vast and gentle third solo dream pop album. Here we find a singer-songwriter fully immersed in her creative journey, determined to keep creating in order to define herself. Above all, we find sumptuous pieces that lull and uplift, probe and sustain—like waves of nostalgia rolling toward the horizon.
Perma
Carolane Prévost and Joël Lemieux became friends a long time ago, brought together by their shared love of the DIY scene and the local music scene—which eventually led them to form Perma, a wonderful project that blends hazy dream pop with resourceful shoegaze. Their music possesses an inherent ethereal quality—and at the same time unfolds with complete transparency, in a spirit of authenticity that’s as genuine as it gets. Between palpable rumblings and immaterial textures, the band floats somewhere on the border between the liminal and the tearful, linking tender emotions to comforting sorrow.
