À la fois danse et musique, la Rumba congolaise a eu un impact immense sur la musique du continent africain, elle a notamment donné naissance au Soukous et au Ndombolo. L’UNESCO ne s’y est pas trompée et a inscrit ce genre musical grisant, synonyme d’indépendance, sur la liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’humanité en décembre 2021. À l’instar de Tabu Ley Rocheleau, la star internationale de la Rumba congolaise, ou du mythique Zaiko Langa Langa, Guyard & New Formule, mené par le chanteur, compositeur et chorégraphe Guynard Mungu, alias Inspecto, met l’ambiance avec une exubérance réjouissante, exposant la foisonnante culture des deux Congo.
Both dance and music, Congolese Rumba has had an immense impact on the music of the African continent, notably giving rise to Soukous and Ndombolo. UNESCO has made no mistake, inscribing this exhilarating musical genre, synonymous with independence, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2021. Following in the footsteps of Tabu Ley Rocheleau, the international star of Congolese Rumba, or the legendary Zaiko Langa Langa, Guyard & New Formule, led by singer, composer and choreographer Guynard Mungu, aka Inspecto, sets the mood with joyful exuberance, showcasing the teeming culture of the two Congos.
