Né à Lagos, au Nigeria, et aujourd’hui établi au Canada, TOMMYPHYLL est un artiste afrobeats audacieux qui réinvente le genre avec son style signature, AFRODIEM — une fusion de rythmes ouest-africains, de synthés des années 1980, d’orchestration classique et de narration cinématographique. Accompagné d’un groupe de cinq musiciens, Tommyphyll offre des performances immersives et énergiques, mêlant afrobeats, improvisations inspirées du jazz et riches textures harmoniques. Depuis son premier album Art of Dreams en 2020, il s’est produit dans de nombreux festivals et vitrines au Canada, notamment BreakOut West et Afrofall Music Fest. En 2025, il a remporté le tout premier prix Afrobeats Artist of the Year aux Western Canadian Music Awards. Son dernier EP, Love Me Like the First Day, poursuit son exploration musicale et son ambition de faire évoluer l’afrobeats tout en créant des ponts entre les cultures.
