Songs of the Drowning est une performance interdisciplinaire réalisée par Roozbeh Tabandeh, inspirée par les poèmes de Sandeep Bhagwati et les peintures de Khosro Berahmandi. La poésie de Bhagwati a été à la fois une inspiration et une source d’idées dans le processus de composition musicale. Le cycle de poésie représente une contemplation critique de la condition humaine à notre époque. Ces neufs courts poèmes ont été écrits en allemand, et seront présentés en quatre langues dans la pièce, dont l’anglais, français et farsi. Ainsi, l’œuvre finale fusionne ces quatre langues avec la musique de Roozbeh Tabandeh, des œuvres vidéo de Hadi Jamali inspirées par les toiles de Khosro Berahmandi ainsi qu’une scénographie créée par la scénographe et architecte Haleh Vedadi et Roozbeh Tabandeh.
Songs of the Drowning is an interdisciplinary performance created by Roozbeh Tabandeh, inspired by the poems of Sandeep Bhagwati and the paintings of Khosro Berahmandi. Bhagwati’s poetry served both as inspiration and as a source of ideas throughout the musical composition process. The poetry cycle offers a critical reflection on the human condition in our time. These nine short poems, originally written in German, will be presented in four languages during the performance, including English, French, and Farsi. The final work thus weaves together these four languages with Roozbeh Tabandeh’s music, video works by Hadi Jamali inspired by Khosro Berahmandi’s paintings, and a scenography created by set designer and architect Haleh Vedadi in collaboration with Roozbeh Tabandeh.
