Fresh Wax est un duo de noise rock expérimental de Montréal. Fresh Wax is an experimental noise rock duo from Montreal. With wild bass playing, thundering drums, over driven oscillating synths, and eccentric lyrics, Fresh Wax creates a unique raw and energetic sound. Taking influence from Roxy Music, Talking Heads, and DEVO, Fresh Wax emphasizes weirdness, technicality, and loud catchy melodies.
Knitting
knitting est un groupe indie rock montréalais qui filtre l’introspection lyrique à travers un prisme de slacker-rock chancelant. Formé par l’auteur-compositeur Mischa Dempsey pendant le confinement comme projet d’enregistrement solo, le groupe s’est rapidement transformé en unité collaborative avec le batteur Andy Mulcair et la guitariste et ingénieure de son Sarah Harris, rencontrés à travers la scène DIY canadienne. Avec leur premier album de 2024, Some Kind of Heaven (Mint Records), knitting a fait découvrir son mélange nerveux et titubant d’indie rock, évoquant la nostalgie des groupes alternatifs des années 90, ce qui leur a valu des comparaisons allant de DIIV à Hole en passant par Alex G. L’album a connu un vaste écho, passant cinq semaines au premier rang des palmarès de radios universitaires canadiennes, attirant l’attention de Pitchfork, The FADER et Stereogum (Bands To Watch, Best New Artists 2024), et menant knitting jusqu’à des festivals comme SXSW, en plus de tournées au Canada, aux États-Unis, au Royaume-Uni et en Europe. Entre les concerts, knitting a écrit, enregistré et produit son deuxième album, Souvenir. knitting is a Montreal-based indie rock band filtering lyrical introspection through a warping, slacker-rock lens. Formed by songwriter Mischa Dempsey during lockdown as a solo recording project, the band quickly evolved into a collaborative unit with drummer Andy Mulcair and guitarist/engineer Sarah Harris, who met through Canada’s DIY music scene. With their 2024 debut album Some Kind of Heaven (Mint Records), knitting introduced their wiry and careening blend of indie rock evoking the nostalgia of 90s alternative rock bands, earning the band comparisons ranging from DIIV to Hole to Alex G. The release resonated widely, spending five weeks at #1 on the Canadian campus radio charts, garnering press from Pitchfork, The FADER and Stereogum (Bands To Watch, Best New Artists 2024), and taking knitting to festivals like SXSW, and tours across Canada, the US, UK and Europe. Between performances, knitting wrote, recorded, and produced their sophomore album, Souvenir. Coming out June 26th, 2026 via Mint Records, Souvenir is an introspective and at-times deeply existential album that considers what we take with us in life. Birds of Prrrey
Birds Of Prrrey est un trio indie rock montréalais qui crée une musique puissante pour les grands cœurs. Rendant hommage au mouvement Riot Grrrl par ses paroles franches et son éthique artistique DIY, le groupe incarne l’esprit du punk féministe grâce à ses voix percutantes, ses guitares saturées et distordues, ses lignes de basse imposantes et ses batteries tonitruantes. Birds Of Prrrey is a Montreal-based indie rock trio that makes powerful music for big hearts. Paying homage to the Riot Girrrl movement with their direct lyrics and DIY artistic ethic, they embody the spirit of feminist punk through their powerful vocals, saturated and distorted guitars, heavy bass lines, and thunderous drums. Active in the Montreal underground scene since 2023, they bring passion and intensity to each of their performances.
NIIVI
NIIVI est un·e artiste inuk autochtone bispirituel·le de Kuujjuaq, au Nunavik (nord du Québec, au Canada). Iel intègre la langue inuktitute et les pratiques traditionnelles inuit du chant guttural, de la danse du tambour et du chant ancestral dans une performance de groupe complet, teintée de rock alternatif. NIIVI conçoit la musique comme une forme d’activisme inuit, chantant la culture, l’histoire et la politique inuit dans le but de faire rayonner les histoires de son peuple, de préserver l’inuktitut et la culture, avec l’espoir que sa musique donne aux jeunes Inuit la fierté de leur identité autochtone.
NIIVI is a Two-Spirit Indigenous Inuk Artist from Kuujjuaq, Nunavik (Northern Quebec in Canada). They Incorporate Inuktitut language and Traditional Inuit practices of Throat singing, drum dancing and ancestral song in a full band, alt rock performance. NIIVI writes music as a form of Inuit Activism, singing about Inuit culture, history and politics with the goal of shining light of their peoples stories, preserve Inuktitut and culture with hope that their music gives Inuit youth pride in their Indigenous identity.
