Montrealer of Congolese origin Pierre Kwenders fits firmly into the international African renaissance of the digital age which is building momentum both on his continent of origin and in the urban areas of its diaspora. Conceived in Seattle with the concert of Baba Maraire and Ishmael Butler (from the excellent hip hop group Shabazz Palaces), this multilingual recording (Lingala, French, English, Shona) is carried by composite materials (hip hop, soul/R&B, Congolese rumba, Afro-electro, Western avant-pop) and offers a sensual, visionary and appealing repertoire, in line with the quality of its raw elements.
