Today, as part of the Souk du Sud Festival, we’re taking the time to discover an artist whose career is deeply rooted in Montreal’s cultural scene. A singer-songwriter, musician, director, and producer, Paul Cargnello has been active for over twenty years in a rich and eclectic musical world where folk, rock, reggae, blues, and chanson—in both French and English—come together. With 20 albums in his career and numerous collaborations, he has built a career marked by artistic freedom and commitment. But beyond music, Paul Cargnello is also an active member of his community. As co-founder of NDG Arts Week and founder of Upper China Studio, he helps promote Montreal’s artistic scene. Keithy Antoine interviewed the artist to discuss music, creativity, social engagement, his career, and his performance at Souk du Sud on Saturday, September 5, at 6 p.m. on the main stage!
