He often stays in the background, but this man of many talents really gets things moving, as they say. Originally a bassist, he chose to step behind the scenes to build the infrastructure that allows diverse artists to shine. Whether through his booking agency, Pasa Musik—which also serves as a record label while operating in the music publishing industry—Patrice Agbokou has, over the years, become a key player in the Montreal, Canadian, and international arts scenes. He was also a member of the jury at Womex in 2025 and is preparing to fly to South Africa with a Canadian delegation in a few months to participate in ACCESS. But it was primarily regarding the third edition of Souk du Sud that our reporter Sandra Gasana spoke with him to learn more about the lineup for September 4 and 5, as well as the day dedicated to industry professionals on September 3.
