Friday 25th at Salle Pierre-Mercure, the opening night concert of the 25th Arab Word Festival features the Montréal debut of the great Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti. Renowned for her exceptional voice and charisma, Barghouti infuses classical and contemporary arabic music with modern styles of the Western word. She developped herself a unique approach that she calls NaiStrumentation technique including layers of jazz improvisations with arabic melodic lines, and then using her voice as a fully-fledged instrument. For PAN M 360, Alain Brunet interviewed Nai Barghouti between her rehearsals with a local 12 piece band.
