This group lives up to its name, as the concerts described by Johnny Shango, the band’s leader, feel like truly immersive experiences! After playing with several rock, funk, punk, and jazz bands, he’s ready to launch his own project, blending the worlds of 70s music and film with extravagant costumes. Johnny Shango is a singer, guitarist, trombonist, and dancer, and will be accompanied by several musicians who have played with him over the years, notably during his time with the band Colectivo. Influenced by artists like James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lenny Kravitz, Johnny Shango proudly champions his project, which he describes as unclassifiable. In fact, festivals sometimes struggle to categorize them into a specific genre, as they draw from a variety of styles. For their June 5th concert at Turbo Haüs, VSE is preparing an eclectic evening, during which you’ll have to leave all your troubles behind and let loose.
