Jours de cendres is the new opus from Zouz, certainly one of the most accomplished rock bands in French-speaking America. The choice of Franco rock with a penchant for hardcore, noise, metal and other hot peppers is not very common in Quebec’s far-centre. Let’s rejoice, because this power trio is going to be the talk of the town over the coming months, and for all the right reasons. Zouz is now at the heart of the rock revival, like Corridor and Population II. And that’s exactly why Alain Brunet interviewed the band, who are now touring and releasing their second album, Jours de cendres, on the Simone Records label.
