Sting – Hommage Rock Symphonique : Une célébration orchestrale de son répertoire à la salle Maurice-O’Bready

Auteur-compositeur-interprète, Sting est une figure emblématique de l’histoire de la musique. De ses années avec The Police à une carrière solo saluée à travers le monde, ses chansons ont marqué plusieurs générations, mariant rock, finesse mélodique et émotion intemporelle. L’Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, en coproduction avec le Centre culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke, offre une relecture symphonique de ce répertoire légendaire avec des pièces comme Englishman in New York, Roxanne, If You Love Somebody Set Them Free et Every Breath You Take. Les œuvres prennent une nouvelle ampleur, portées par la richesse orchestrale et par le groupe rock Too Many Cooks. Menée par Richard D’Anjou et Dan Georgesco, la formation sherbrookoise déploie une énergie et une couleur vocale qui rappellent avec justesse l’univers de Sting. À cette rencontre musicale s’ajoute l’incomparable Lulu Hughes. Cette grande artiste, qui fut d’ailleurs la choriste du groupe pendant de nombreuses années, fera vibrer la salle par la puissance et la sensibilité de sa voix exceptionnelle. Ce concert événement fait dialoguer le symphonique et le rock autour d’un répertoire devenu légendaire — une soirée à la fois spectaculaire, nostalgique et profondément rassembleuse.

Singer-songwriter Sting is an iconic figure in the history of music. From his years with The Police to a globally acclaimed solo career, his songs have marked generations, blending rock, melodic finesse, and timeless emotion. The Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, in co-production with the Centre culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke, presents a symphonic reinterpretation of this legendary repertoire, featuring pieces such as Englishman in New York, Roxanne, If You Love Somebody Set Them Free, and Every Breath You Take. These works take on new depth, carried by rich orchestration and the rock band Too Many Cooks. Led by Richard D’Anjou and Dan Georgesco, the Sherbrooke ensemble delivers an energy and vocal color that faithfully evoke Sting’s musical world. Joining this musical encounter is the incomparable Lulu Hughes. This remarkable artist, who also sang as a backing vocalist with the group for many years, will fill the hall with the power and sensitivity of her exceptional voice. This event concert brings symphonic music and rock into dialogue around a now-legendary repertoire — an evening that is at once spectacular, nostalgic, and deeply unifying.
