This album marked the return of American artist Ryan Lott after At War With Walls & Mazes, released four years earlier. As part of the NPR Challenge, The Wire asked him to produce a whole new album, including the cover, within the 28 days of February. The challenge was met with great success, with Lott negotiating a major turn, moving away from electronic minimalism and opting for a much more extensive musical approach, including the addition of acoustic instruments. His subsequent creations transformed this initially solo project into a very solid trio.
