À l’aise autant en studio que sur scène, ALIAS trace une franche ligne entre le produit fini du premier et celui animé de la seconde, là où les compositions vibrent dans des états nouveaux, davantage bruts. Emmanuel Alias (guitare, voix), Jean-Baptiste Beltra (clavier, guitare), Vincent Bénézet (basse) et Simon Bilodeau (batterie) propulsent un psych rock planant marqué de revers à travers des hauts et bas d’intensité, chinant les genres en évoquant les canons pour mieux explorer autour. Il se passe quelque chose de plus, simplement – via l’imprévu, l’improvisation, l’ambiance : une performance habitée, à chaque fois aguerrie et vierge.
