A member of the Wolastoqiyik people, who for centuries have inhabited the Saint-Jean river valley and its tributaries, Jeremy Dutcher has launched a foundational work, the first chapter of which is a true catalyst for the cultural renaissance of First Nations in Canada. A classical tenor and musicologist by training, he creates with the tools and references of our time, while integrating the musical treasures of his nation. Thus, contemporary Western music is frequented by traditional indigenous songs, creative pop, and electro production, building a body of work that promises durability, with the 2018 Polaris Prize as confirmation.
