By the turn of 2010, this Norwegian team had reached a high point of inspiration. Led by brothers Lars and Martin Horntveth, Jaga Jazzist combined several styles to create something exceptionally powerful. High-performance polyrhythms carried these compositions, which were at the same time singular and unifying, melodically and harmonically consonant despite the unusual textures and orchestral ornaments inspired by avant-garde trends. Jacketing their works in jazz, electro, psych-rock, prog, noise and minimalism, Jaga Jazzist have become a bellwether, both on stage and in the studio.
