In Spanish Town, the reggae revival goes by the name Chronixx. A leading figure in a new wave of Jamaican artists, this absolutely magnetic singer is part of the important lineage of roots reggae, dub, ska, rocksteady and dancehall, and can feed it soca, calypso, hip hop, rock or R&B flavours as suits him. His approach is certainly respectful of his culture but belongs to a broader movement, especially in the way he plays and enhances the repertoire.
