Additional Information
This isn’t David Bontemps’ first time participating in Creole Month. In fact, he’s a regular, but for this 25th edition, he wanted to set himself a challenge for his October 17 performance, as part of the commemoration of the assassination of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Haiti’s first head of state. And to stay true to this spirit of freedom, David Bontemps will not provide a program in advance; he plans to connect directly with his audience through music. He hopes that “the audience will come ready to listen, close their eyes, and open their ears.” Sandra Gasana spoke with David Bontemps, who has been living in the Laurentians for some time, to learn more about his career as well as his various current and upcoming projects.
