François-Mario Labbé must be considered the most important classical music producer and distributor of his generation in Canada. The repertoire of Analekta, the label and distribution company he founded in the early days of his career, has featured many of Quebec’s and Canada’s finest classical artists, including the great composers Jacques Hétu and R. Murray Schafer, pianists Alain Lefèvre and Charles Richard-Hamelin, and his partner, the celebrated violinist Angèle Dubeau, with whom he presents the annual Fête de la musique at Tremblant.
