What could be described as The Modern Lovers meets Lou Reed during Mardi Gras, “The Vampire,” by Piedmont, Italy’s Tanz Akademie, is a bit post-punk, ska, and art pop. The sound feels old and modern at the same time with what sounds like a full marching band backing a slacker indie rock piece. And though there is not a huge amount of variation musically, the track is ridiculously catchy and a welcomed earworm. The track is off of Tanz Akademie’s upcoming LP, Hullabaloo, out April 26.
