RFI musique, début 2022, l’a qualifié de « virtuose » au « jeu éclatant », dans le cadre d’une présence très remarquée sur le dernier album du chanteur Corneille. Équipé de ses multiples saxos (alto, ténor, bariton, soprano), de sa flûte traversière au son exceptionnel, et entouré de musiciens de calibre international, Giovany Arteaga, qui a notamment travaillé avec la grande Omara Portuondo du Buena Vista Social Club, The Cuban All-Stars et Nathalie Choquette, déploie une profusion de rythmes afro-cubain appuyés d’enlevantes impros aux consonances Jazz contemporain, R&B et Soul, dignes des meilleurs clubs de La Havane.

Equipped with a full range of saxophones (alto, tenor, baritone, soprano) and the finest of flutes, and backed by musicians of international calibre, Giovany Arteaga—who has worked with such renowned artists as Buena Vista Social Club’s Omara Portuondo, the Afro-Cuban All Stars and Nathalie Choquette—unleashes a profusion of AfroCuban rhythms, sustained by lively improvisations with contemporary jazz, R&B and soul overtones worthy of Havana’s finest clubs.
