Mereba navigue librement entre un R&B progressif aux racines soul, la folk et le hip-hop, adoptant une approche narrative dans son écriture. Profondément attachée au Sud des États-Unis, la chanteuse, rappeuse, multi-instrumentiste et productrice a développé son talent à Atlanta, où elle a rejoint le collectif Spillage Village, affilié à Dreamville. Elle a débuté en solo avec des enregistrements folk-soul, dont l’EP Room for Living (2013), avant de faire ses premiers pas sur un label majeur avec The Jungle Is the Only Way Out (2019). Cet album éclectique comprend des collaborations avec 9th Wonder (Black Truck), JID (Sandstorm) et 6LACK (Heatwave), tous membres de Spillage Village. Mereba moves freely from soul-rooted progressive R&B to folk to hip-hop while favoring a narrative approach to songwriting. Deeply connected to the South, the singer/rapper, multi-instrumentalist, and producer honed her talents in Atlanta, where she became part of the Dreamville-affiliated Spillage Village collective. Signed to Secretly Canadian in 2024, she returned with The Breeze Grew a Fire (2025), her unostentatious if inviting second album.
