Nous sommes en Italie, au 17e siècle… au beau milieu d’un foisonnement de création musicale! La voix, qui jusque-là occupait le centre de la scène, commence à céder du terrain aux instruments qui se développent techniquement pour mieux servir une musique nouvelle, axée sur la virtuosité et le lyrisme. Mais assez parlé… place à la musique! Solistes : Vincent Lauzer (flûte à bec), Marie Nadeau-Tremblay (violon baroque), Tristan Best (viole de gambe), Antoine Malette-Chénier (harpe baroque) et Hank Knox (clavecin).
The scene is 17th-century Italy, in the midst of a period of exploding musical creativity! The voice, which until then had taken centre stage, was beginning to relinquish ground to instruments that were becoming technically more advanced to better serve a new music, one that emphasized virtuosity and lyricism. But enough talk… let the music play!
