Godspeed You! Black Emperor a sorti une série d’albums entre 1997 et 2002, largement reconnus comme redéfinissant ce que peut être la musique de protestation, où des compositions instrumentales de rock de chambre servent de bandes sonores à l’aliénation et à la résistance au capitalisme moderne. Après un hiatus de sept ans qui a commencé en 2003, Godspeed est revenu sur scène en décembre 2010 (en organisant le festival britannique All Tomorrow’s Parties) et la période post-réunion du groupe dure maintenant depuis plus de dix ans, marquée par des centaines de concerts à guichets fermés et trois albums supplémentaires, qui ont tous été accueillis avec enthousiasme.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor released a series of albums between 1997 and 2002, widely recognized as redefining what protest music can be, where instrumental chamber rock compositions serve as soundtracks to alienation and resistance to modern capitalism. After a seven-year hiatus that began in 2003, Godspeed returned to the stage in December 2010 (hosting the UK’s All Tomorrow’s Parties festival), and the band’s post-reunion period has now lasted more than a decade, marked by hundreds of sold-out shows and three additional albums, all of which have been enthusiastically received.
