Frosty voices and hungover looks are carried by apparently indolent instrumental performances, heavily sensual yet precise, effective, inspired, and superbly integrated — drums, guitar, bass, saxophone, vibraphone, keyboards, machines and software. The grit of the vocals and the ambient sounds conceal a great aesthetic richness, a genuine musical depth. Grace of another sort…
