Sans internet dans sa péninsule tropicale, Mike écoute les mêmes albums en boucle. On peut entendre à toutes les heures de la journée, les mélodies de Jorge Ben Jor, Gal Costa, Daft Punk, Otis Redding, Polo Y Pan, Chet Faker, Luidji qui se faufilent par la fenêtre de sa cabane. C’est l’appel du Camion de Fruits qu’on entend sur l’album qui lui sert d’étincelle. Comme quoi, les grands moments d’inspirations arrivent quand on s’y attend le moins.

Stranded in South America following the passing of his friend Félix, Mike Clay spent his days walking on water, strumming his old nylon-string guitar, and questioning what “home” really means. With no internet in his remote tropical peninsula, he found himself looping the same albums endlessly. At all hours of the day, the sounds of Jorge Ben Jor, Gal Costa, Daft Punk, Otis Redding, Polo & Pan, Chet Faker, and Luidji could be heard drifting through the windows of his cabin. It was the call of the Fruit Truck—heard on the album—that sparked his creative flame. Proof that the most powerful moments of inspiration often come when we least expect them.
