La portion extérieure gratuite du Festival va s’amorcer sur les chapeaux de roue avec, en tête d’affiche, Femi Kuti, six fois nominé aux Grammy Awards (dont deux fois en 2022) ! Porteur de tout un héritage, le digne fils du légendaire Fela fait résonner aux quatre coins de la planète, depuis plus de trois décennies, l’hypnotique Afrobeat créé par son père. Ses spectacles, généreux, énergiques et dansants, respectent l’intégrité de cet excitant genre musical alliant Funk et Jazz aux traditionnels Juju et Highlife nigérians, supporté par une orchestration monstre où les longues envolées des cuivres et les ondes exaltées des percussions se disputent la vedette. Il sera accompagné de son fils Mádé Kuti pour une soirée Afrobeat multigénérationnelle.

Worthy bearer of an impressive legacy, the son of the legendary Fela Kuti has continued to make his father’s signature Afrobeat resonate hypnotically around the world for over three decades. Energetic and generous, his shows are a testament to this exuberant musical genre that combines funk and jazz with Nigerian highlife and traditional juju, backed by his monumental band with its soaring sounds of the brass and exultant waves of percussion instruments contending for the spotlight. His son Mádé Kuti will also be performing making it a truly multigenerational Afrobeat evening.
