Contrebassiste et compositeur-interprète montréalais, Normand Guilbeault fait partie de l’élite québécoise et canadienne du jazz et de l’improvisation musicale depuis plus de 40 ans.
D’abord connu pour ses associations avec plusieurs fleurons de la scène jazz montréalaise, il s’est démarqué comme leader de son ensemble à la fin des années 80. Lauréat du prix Du Maurier au FIJM en 1994, le magazine canadien The Jazz Report lui a décerné le prix « Acoustic Jazz Group of the Year » en 1997.
Montréal double bass player, composer and performer Normand Guilbeault has been classed among the top jazz and improvisation musicians in Quebec and Canada for over 40 years. First recognized for his work with many of the leading lights of the Montréal jazz scene, he came to prominence as the leader of his ensemble in the late 1980, which received several prominent awards.
