Un concert d’Élégie, c’est un exercice cathartique parfait pour sortir le méchant. Lawrence Villeneuve, Alex Corriveau et Maxence Girard font danser la jeunesse de la Vieille Capitale et d’ailleurs depuis le milieu des années 2010 avec un mélange irrésistible de new punk et de post wave. S’ils ne se prennent pas trop au sérieux, teintant leurs prestations d’une touche d’humour bon enfant, ils dégagent une énergie hors du commun dès qu’ils se mettent à jouer. On se reconnaît dans leurs textes empreints de mélancolie, mais surtout, on a envie de bouger au rythme de leurs mélodies accrocheuses et de leurs riffs entraînants.
An Élégie concert is the perfect cathartic exercise to get the bad guy out. Lawrence Villeneuve, Alex Corriveau and Maxence Girard have been getting the youth of the Old Capital and beyond up on their feet since the mid-2010s with an irresistible blend of new punk and post-wave. While they don’t take themselves too seriously, tinting their performances with a touch of good-natured humor, they exude an uncommon energy as soon as they start playing. We recognize ourselves in their melancholy lyrics, but above all, we want to move to the rhythm of their catchy melodies and catchy riffs.
