MINT SIMON, c’est le projet solo du leader du band indie-pop Caveboy. Originaire de Montréal, Mint est un enfant du théâtre devenu pop star, existant quelque part sur le spectre du genre entre Ferris Bueller et Prince. Sa musique est une exploration sonore et lyrique de l’amour, des occasions manquées, du désir et de la libération sexuelle. Mint s’y découvrir et s’y exprime, développant une sonorité musicale unique pour raconter sa quête d’acceptation de soi avec des chansons pop fluides, captivantes et accrocheuses. Tout de cuire et de cuirette, scintillant et résolument queer — ce prince de la pop puise dans ses influences des années 80 et 90, tout en demeurant aussi libre qu’authentique.
MINT SIMON is the solo project of the front person of indie-pop band, Caveboy. Born & raised in Montreal, Mint is a theatre kid, turned band lead, turned pop star living somewhere on the gender spectrum between Ferris Bueller and Prince. Their music is a sonic and lyrical exploration of love, missed opportunities, desire and sexual liberation. Mint is using this as a vehicle for self-discovery and expression, as they develop their unique musical sound as a solo act while sharing their journey of self-acceptance with captivating and effortlessly catchy pop tunes. Leather, pleather, shimmer n’ glimmer – they are unapologetically queer – a pop prince tapping into their 80s and 90s influences, while being unabashedly themselves and having zero restrictions.
Luella
Luella est le projet musical de Liv Whitfield, une artiste de 20 ans basée à Kingston. Sa sonorité dreampop soul est surtout connue pour ses lignes de base accrocheuses, ses voix nettes et ses paroles honnêtes. Son premier album sorti en 2022, Luna, a été produit en collaboration avec son père, Zane Whitfield, au studio North of Princess (Glorious Sons, Kathleen Edwards, Blue Stones). En moins d’un an, Luella a tranquillement accumulé quelque 30 000 streams vidéo et plus de 100 000 streams sur Spotify, tout en jouant à guichets fermés aux côtés de fanclubwallet, Dizzy et Claudia Bouvette. Le nouvel album de Luella, Summer Bummer, est un testament à ses dernières années de jeune fille, capturant l’essence douce-amère des étés éphémères, des tourments du premier amour et des cœurs inévitablement brisés. Cet album est plus audacieux, transmettant une nouvelle confiance en soi chez Luella, qui demeure néanmoins fidèle à la vulnérabilité qui la caractérise.
Luella is the musical project of 20-year-old Kingston-based artist Liv Whitfield.
