White Boy Scream est le projet classique expérimental de la chanteuse d’opéra et compositrice Micaela Tobin. Dans son dernier album, BAKUNAWA, elle dissèque sa voix en utilisant l’électronique pour explorer l’identité et les traumatismes ancestraux. BAKUNAWA est un hommage à la mythologie précoloniale de sa patrie, les Philippines. Il s’agit à la fois d’un rituel sonore et d’un récit diasporique. À propos de l’album, Steve Smith du New Yorker Magazine affirme que « l’opéra ferait bien d’y prêter attention. » L’album a été classé 9e album de l’année 2020 par The Wire Magazine.

White Boy Scream is the experimental classical project from opera singer and composer Micaela Tobin. On her latest release, ‘BAKUNAWA’, she dissects her voice through the use of electronics as a means of exploring identity and ancestral trauma. “BAKUNAWA” is an homage to the pre-colonial mythology of her motherland, the Philippines. Part sonic ritual, part diasporic storytelling. Of the album, Steve Smith of The New Yorker Magazine asserts that “opera would do well to pay attention.” The album was ranked #9 Release of 2020 in The Wire Magazine.

Together and individually, Bach’s sacred cantatas constitute a tremendous sonic and spiritual universe.

Stéphane Tétreault et Mathieu Gaudet à la Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur

Nommé premier soliste en résidence de l’Orchestre Métropolitain, Stéphane s’est produit entre autres avec Yannick Nézet-Séguin lors de la saison 2014-2015. En 2016, il fait ses débuts avec l’Orchestre de Philadelphie, sous la direction de Maestro Nézet-Séguin, et il se produit au prestigieux Gstaad Menuhin Festival en Suisse. Au cours de la saison 2017-18, il a pris part à la première tournée européenne de l’Orchestre Métropolitain avec Maestro Nézet-Séguin et fait ses débuts avec le London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Artiste polyvalent et musicien passionné, Mathieu Gaudet poursuit depuis une vingtaine d’années une remarquable carrière de soliste, de chambriste et de chef d’orchestre. Il interprète un vaste répertoire qui l’a conduit dans les dix provinces canadiennes, aux États-Unis, en Europe et en Asie. Ses concerts et enregistrements sont régulièrement diffusés sur les ondes de Radio-Canada et de CBC.

His use of deeply personal lyrics tells relatable stories about love, loss, addiction and rebirth.

Pinksnail is one of the many projects of Evelyn Charlotte-Joe Fraser Coyne; an active musician, recording engineer, accompanyist and educator. Pinksnail is their outlet for song writing; an experiment of combining folk + pop songforms with punk and metal vocabulary and texture. Pinksnail is due to release a full length album titled « this mess is more blessed with u in it » sometime in 2023.

Lunay au MTELUS

Lunay est un artiste portoricain de reggaeton dont les collaborations avec des artistes tels que Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Bad Bunny et Zion & Lennox lui ont permis de décrocher son propre contrat d’enregistrement. À 16 ans, il créait des raps freestyle qu’il téléchargeait sur ses pages Facebook et SoundCloud. Plusieurs de ses clips audio sont devenus viraux et ont attiré l’attention des producteurs Chris Jedi et Gaby Music, qui lui ont fait signer un contrat de production sur leur label La Familia.

Lunay is a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist whose charting collaborations with artists such as Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, and Zion & Lennox resulted in him scoring his own recording contract. Born in Puerto Rico in 2000, Lunay was far more interested in soccer than music as a young teen, but he caught the bug at 15. A year later, he was creating freestyle raps and uploading them to his Facebook and SoundCloud pages. Several of his audio clips went viral and caught the attention of producers Chris Jedi and Gaby Music, who signed him to a production deal on their Record Label – La Familia.

Le Choeur St-Laurent présente Psalmae

Le Chœur St-Laurent vous convie à un grand concert intitulé Psalmae. Les trois œuvres présentées sont inspirées de psaumes et de textes qui apportent réconfort et espoir.

Le Psaume 121 (Psalm 121) du compositeur canadien Imant Raminsh met en musique un texte fort connu et porteur d’un message apaisant : entre notre départ et notre arrivée, celui qui veille sur nous ne dort jamais. Suit le Psalmus Hungaricus de Zoltán Kodály, dont c’est le 100^e anniversaire de création, avec le ténor canadien Ian Cleary pour la première fois au Chœur St-Laurent, un rôle qu’incarnent les choristes. Enfin, le Chœur St-Laurent présente une œuvre très rarement offerte au public : le Psaume 100 du compositeur Max Reger, une symphonie-chorale de grande envergure et aux sonorités festives offrant des moments d’une immense beauté.

The St. Lawrence Choir invites you to a wonderful concert: Psalmae. The three works to be performed include texts inspiring the listener with personal comfort and hope.

Psalm 121 by Canadian composer Imant Raminsh sets to music a well-known religious text: from beginning to end, the One who watches over us never sleeps. This is followed by Zoltán Kodály’s Psalmus Hungaricus on the 100th anniversary of its composition, with Canadian tenor Ian Cleary, making his debut with the St. Lawrence Choir, as the psalmist and his people represented by the choristers. Finally, the Choir will perform Max Reger’s Psalm 100, a rarely heard choral symphony marked by festive harmonies and moments of immense beauty.
