I’m a little late in talking about this release, but I have to do it anyway, so significant is it, musically speaking. After all, this is something other than Swiftian pop, outdated after 2 weeks of activity…. I know, I’m rude, but you know what I mean.
One of the most interesting voices to emerge from the alternative movement in the last twenty, if not thirty years, is Sarah Rossy. The Montrealer’s post-Kate Bush neo-New Wave is seasoned with art-pop, chamber jazz and ambient electro.
Seemingly Insatiable Waves is an EP not even 20 minutes long, which is far too short for such an original offering. Rossy knows how to play hard to get.
The Rossy product is beautiful, strange music, continually stimulated by surprises, unexpected melodic or harmonic turns and unexpected synth colors. Sink into it gently, curled up in a soft blanket of psychedelic nuances.
