Kallisto – Live in Montreal

· by Frédéric Cardin

On 18 May 2025 at Club Balattou, Kallisto put on a show that was a lot of fun, showcasing their eclecticism centred on klezmer, but also featuring some great surf rock, Balkan, Turkish-psychedelic and other styles. In fact, I was there and told you all about it in the review HERE. This album is the exact testimony of that evening and will allow you to verify for yourself the accuracy of my positive assessment. There’s no doubt about it: the band is solid and offers a particularly delightful mix of influences and, better yet, quite danceable.

To complete the experience, come and see them live at Quai des brumes, Montreal, on 9 July 2025.

Jossée MacInnis – clarinet, compositions, leader

Jefferson Perez – cello

Antoine Bensoussan – guitar

Patrick LeBrun – bass guitar

Edward Scrimger – drums
