Asperities

Born in Vancouver, but now based in England, Kent is a cellist who fully exploits the loops and superimposition of tracks, which she then builds on with a variety of electronic effects and field recordings. She thus creates complex, cinematic visions with compelling atmospheres, sometimes ethereal or meditative, at other times dark and melancholic. On this fourth album, Kent eases off the tinkering, and her compositions are more immediate and moving. Beautiful tracks to soothe ire and isolation alike.
