When I first heard “High Again,” from Coucou Babe, I thought it was dusty b-side from Beach House, but it turns out to actually be the debut single of a transatlantic dream pop artist from Vienna/Nashville.
The vibe is very retro, feeling like a dazed hush in the dead of night. The video is also very retro, filmed of 8mm, featuring a clown (who I assume is Coucou Babe) dancing between jump cuts on a mysterious island. It feels like there’s a narrative building here but I don’t know what it is. Can’t wait to see what unfolds is the future. In the meantime, get lost in this:
