It took Salomé Leclerc years before her obvious talent fully took shape in her work, as can be heard here in recorded form. It took three albums to reach this transcendent take on indie, folk, rock, and electro. The supportive Philippe Brault and Antoine Corriveau were among those who made this release happen. On Les choses extérieures, Leclerc inhabits her voice, guitars and bass, pedals and percussion, machines and software without reservations. This emotional openess makes her intimate garden flourish and finally reveals an artist clearly freed of external constraints, one who lies a little beyond definition.
