Eric Quach plays an 8-string bass through an array of electronic gear and rumbling amplifiers; Elyze Venne-Deshaies weaves textures on a tenor saxophone, transformed by effects; and Eric Craven crafts drum rhythms that serve as both a dialogue and a unifying thread. At the intersection of free jazz, drone, and post-rock, Tempête Solaire crafts a rich, saturated instrumental sound that reflects the turmoil of our times while offering a sound that unites different visions. Can you dance to experimental music? You’ll have to find out for yourself (hint: yes).

LeParc

With bursts of explosive math-rock, edgy prog, and hard-hitting psychedelia, the Saguenay-based instrumental quartet LeParc seeks to bring to life the traditional games played in Quebec’s neighborhood parks, as evidenced by their song titles: “Who Can Jump the Farther?”, “Ring the Bell,” “The Bear,” “Climb,” “Hide-and-Seek,” and the infamous “Whoever Says It Is the One Who Is It.” There are no lyrics: the stories are told through the instruments, with these titles serving to set off a train of imagery in the minds of those who join in the fun with them.
