L’œuvre principale de ce concert est le magnifique Quatuor avec piano en sol mineur, K. 478. Le premier mouvement, d’une atmosphère sombre, commence par un thème lapidaire de six notes qui revient sans cesse. Les deux tableaux qui suivent font cependant apparaître une belle lumière. Publiée à l’origine sous le titre « Quatuor pour le Clavecin ou Forte Piano, Violon, Tallie [sic] et Basse », l’écriture de clavier suggère que Mozart destinait sans doute la partie de piano au pianoforte viennois de l’époque. C’est donc la sonorité du superbe pianoforte Graf de la Salle Bourgie qu’on pourra entendre lors du concert.
The central work in this concert is Mozart’s magnificent Piano Quartet in G minor K. 478, originally published as Quartet for Harpsichord or Forte Piano, Violin, Tallie [sic] and Bass. Its darkly atmospheric first movement begins with a concise six-note theme that recurs again and again, and the two that follow flow into a beautiful light. Its keyboard part suggests that Mozart probably intended it for the Viennese fortepiano of the time. It is the superb Graf fortepiano in the Bourgie Hall that will be heard in this concert.
