Charlotte Cornfield
Hurts Like Hell, le premier album de Charlotte Cornfield chez Merge Records paru le 27 mars 2026, est l’album le plus ouvert et affirmé de sa carrière, ainsi que le premier qu’elle enregistre depuis la naissance de sa fille en 2023. Installée au studio Sugar Mountain de Philip Weinrobe à Brooklyn en janvier 2025, Cornfield est accompagnée de El Kempner de Palehound, Bridget Kearney de Lake Street Drive, Adam Brisbin et Sean Mullins. Elle et Weinrobe invitent ensuite Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson et Maia Friedman à participer aux voix. Hurts Like Hell, Toronto songwriter Charlotte Cornfield’s March 27, 2026 Merge Records debut, is the most open-hearted, full-voiced album of her career and the first she’s recorded since the birth of her daughter in 2023. Decamping to Philip Weinrobe’s Sugar Mountain studio in Brooklyn, New York in January 2025, Cornfield was joined by Palehound’s El Kempner (guitar/vocals), Lake Street Drive’s Bridget Kearney (bass/vocals), Adam Brisbin (guitar/pedal steel), and Sean Mullins (drums). She and Weinrobe then recruited Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson and Maia Friedman to sing on the album. “Every musician involved was a dream collaborator,” Cornfield says. These ten songs are at once a reaffirmation of Cornfield standing among the great singer-songwriters of her generation and the first articulation of her future, whatever uncertainty and love it may bring.
Heaven 4 Real
Le projet Heaven For Real, basé entre Montréal et Toronto (orignée Halifax), existe depuis longtemps sous différentes formes, en tordant le pop rock pour le transformer en quelque trucs de nouveau, un peu déroutant et vraiment poétique. Mené par les jumeaux iconoclastes Mark Grundy et J. Scott Grundy, leur album 2025 Who Died & Made You The Dream? (Mint Records) a été décrit comme étant « rempli à craquer de mélodies accrocheuses et hyper travaillées qui restent dans la tête », avec « une approche surréaliste du indie rock » et « joyeusement étrange ».
This Montreal/Toronto (by way of Halifax) project has taken on many shapes over the last decade, twisting pop rock structures into new and perplexingly poetic configurations. Helmed by iconoclastic songwriter twins Mark & J. Scott Grundy, their 2025 LP “Who Died & Made You The Dream?” (Mint Records) is described as « filled to the brim with infectiously intricate earworm melodies », a “surrealist approach to indie rock » and « gleefully strange ».
Pony Girl
Pony Girl est un groupe d’art rock à géométrie variable : « pure magic to see live » (Ottawa Showbox) et « astonishing to experience in person » (Exclaim!). Leurs concerts sont imprévisibles et immersifs, alliant une virtuosité musicale à une dimension conceptuelle toujours surprenante. Le groupe est récipiendaire du Prix du Festival d’Été de Québec. Pony Girl a bénéficié d’une diffusion soutenue sur ICI Musique (L’Effet Pogonat), CBC Music (Q, Drive, Afterdark, no. 1 sur CBC Radio 3), ainsi que sur KEXP, KCRW, et de nombreuses radios universitaires et communautaires à travers l’Amérique du Nord (atteignant la 4e position du !earshot National Top 50). En 2026–2027, le groupe se concentre sur la réinvention : tester de nouvelles compositions en concert, affiner une direction artistique renouvelée, et créer des liens avec des diffuseurs et d’autres artistes — en particulier au Québec et à l’international — en vue de la sortie d’un nouvel album prévue pour 2027.

They are recipients of Le Prix du Festival d’Été du Québec. Their live shows feel unpredictable, combining next-level musicianship with conceptual flair. Blending artful pop, rock guitar, jazz drumming and electronic textures, Pony Girl crafts an immersive sound that transforms the familiar into something surreal. After self-releasing two albums, the band signed with Paper Bag Records (Austra, Stars, Broken Social Scene) to unveil two more acclaimed records. Their music has charted across North America (#1 on CBC Radio 3) with features on KEXP, KCRW, CBC Radio Q, and more. Pony Girl made its international debut at SXSW in 2024; and UK debut at FOCUS Wales in 2026. The Canadian band is preparing to release its fifth studio album, « FIRE! », produced by longtime collaborator Austin Tufts (BRAIDS).
