OM : Roméo, Juliette et les éclats d’un siècle à la Maison symphonique

Sous la direction de la cheffe polonaise Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, trois compositeurs d’un siècle tourmenté se rencontrent dans un programme où la musique devient un éclat de liberté. Composé au moment charnière de son retour en URSS, le ballet Roméo et Juliette de Prokofiev naît du heurt entre aspirations personnelles et pressions politiques, porté par des mélodies expressives et une modernité éclatante. Le Concerto pour piano n° 1 de Chostakovitch, composé avant que la censure stalinienne ne s’abatte sur lui, surprend par son dialogue audacieux entre piano et trompette, propulsé par l’énergie de Gabriela Montero. La Symphonie n° 2 de Grażyna Bacewicz, écrite dans l’élan de l’après-guerre, allie tension et lumière, révélant la puissance créatrice et la résilience d’une compositrice visionnaire.

Under the baton of Polish conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, three composers from a time of upheaval are brought together in a program where music becomes a spark of freedom. Composed at the pivotal moment of his return to the Soviet Union, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet emerged from the tension between personal artistic ambition and political constraint, carried by expressive melodies and a strikingly modern tone. Composed prior to the tightening grip of Stalinist censorship, Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 captivates with its bold dialogue between piano and trumpet, driven by Gabriela Montero’s energy. Grażyna Bacewicz’s Symphony No. 2, written in the immediate aftermath of World War II, marries tension and light, revealing the creative strength and resilience of a visionary composer.
