Lauréate des Syli d’or de la musique du monde 2023, la Tribu Salsa Band, c’est la salsa dura à son meilleur: des pas de danse synchronisés, des costumes chics, mais surtout une section de cuivres énergique, un piano flamboyant, une basse en plein contrôle, des percussions punchées et quatre chanteurs qui mènent le bal avec adresse. Tout pour faire honneur à ce rythme créé dans les années 70 à New York et popularisé par le mythique chef d’orchestre dominicain Johnny Pacheco.

Winners of the Syli d’or 2023, La Tribu Salsa Band is salsa dura at its finest: Synchronized moves and dapper outfits, certainly, but most of all, it’s their lively brass section, flamboyant piano playing, tight bass, punch percussions and, of course, the four singers who front the show. A real tribute to this musical style that emerged in the 1970s and was popularized by legendary Dominican bandleader, Johnny Pacheco.
