Comme une suite à la parution de son disque Scorrete lagrime mie chez Passacaille en 2024, le tromboniste Maximilien Brisson nous convie à un voyage dans l’Italie du premier Baroque, à travers un programme d’une grande richesse expressive. Entouré de la soprano Myriam Leblanc, du claveciniste Christophe Gauthier, de l’organiste Luc Beauséjour et du luthiste Sylvain Bergeron, il fait revivre des pages rares et saisissantes des Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, Sigismondo d’India, Giovanni Battista Bovicelli, Lodovico Viadana, Giovanni Bassano et Bartolomeo Barbarino. Un répertoire idéal pour mettre en lumière la virtuosité vocale du trombone, un instrument qui, historiquement, fut sans doute plus que tout autre associé à la voix humaine.
Following the release of his CD Scorrete lagrime mie on Passacaille in 2024, trombonist Maximilien Brisson takes us on a journey to early Baroque Italy, with a programme of great expressive richness. Alongside soprano Myriam Leblanc, harpsichordist Christophe Gauthier, organist Luc Beauséjour and lutenist Sylvain Bergeron, he brings to life rare and striking pages by Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, Sigismondo d’India, Giovanni Battista Bovicelli, Lodovico Viadana, Giovanni Bassano and Bartolomeo Barbarino. An ideal repertoire to highlight the vocal virtuosity of the trombone, an instrument that, historically, has probably been associated more than any other with the human voice.
