Aux confluents de l’improvisation, du groove et des percussions, ce concert mettra en lumière la diversité sonore et la créativité des étudiant·es de la Faculté de musique, guidé·es par leurs professeur·es. With its rich array of instruments and musical traditions, the Ensemble de musiques du monde de l’UdeM invites you to a vibrant evening where jazz meets Latin-inspired rhythms. At the crossroads of improvisation, groove, and percussion, this concert highlights the sonic diversity and creativity of the Faculty of Music students, guided by their professors. The festive and warm atmosphere of these performances often inspires the audience to get up and dance, swept away by the performers’ contagious energy. À la veille du temps des Fêtes, nous vous invitons à vivre un moment de grâce et de recueillement avec Le chemin de Noël, présenté le mardi 23 décembre à 18 h à la salle Raoul-Jobin du Palais Montcalm.
Sous la direction de Bernard Labadie, le chœur La Chapelle de Québec vous transportera dans l’atmosphère unique de cette tradition inspirée du célèbre Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols du King’s College de Cambridge. Le comédien Normand Chouinard accompagnera les magnifiques chants de Noël avec des textes évocateurs qui nous invitent à la réflexion et au partage.
Comment obtenir vos billets?
La distribution des billets se fera exclusivement en ligne le samedi 13 décembre 2025 dès 10 h. L’événement est gratuit, mais un don de 25 $ par billet est exigé. Tous les fonds amassés seront entièrement remis à Solidarité Familles, un organisme qui œuvre auprès des familles en situation de précarité dans le secteur Duberger – Les Saules.

On the eve of the holiday season, we invite you to experience a moment of grace and reflection with Le chemin de Noël, presented on Tuesday, December 23 at 6 p.m. in the Raoul-Jobin Hall at Palais Montcalm.
Under the direction of Bernard Labadie, La Chapelle de Québec choir will transport you into the unique atmosphere of this tradition inspired by the renowned Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King’s College Cambridge. Actor Normand Chouinard will accompany the beautiful Christmas carols with evocative texts that invite us to reflect and share.

Tickets will be distributed exclusively online on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10 a.m. The event is free, but a suggested donation of $25 per ticket is requested. All funds raised will go entirely to Solidarité Familles, an organization that works with families in precarious situations in the Duberger – Les Saules area.

Singer-songwriter from Mascouche, Rick Duff is a self-taught artist. Édith Butler à la salle d’Youville

Édith Butler, la grande dame de la chanson acadienne, est de retour au Palais Montcalm le temps de deux rares concerts intimes, où elle parcourra les titres de son vaste répertoire, dont ceux de son récent album, Le Tour du grand bois, en compagnie de ses trois musiciens. Une occasion unique d’apprécier son art et sa formidable énergie de près! Celle qui a été décrite par l’écrivaine Françoise Mallet-Joris comme un « lutin espiègle qui jongle avec les mots comme avec les instruments qu’elle manie avec une merveilleuse dextérité » a le don de transporter l’Acadie partout où elle se produit depuis six décennies. Ce rendez-vous bien particulier sera complété, le 14 mars, à 13h30, par un entretien Paroles et musique gratuit (réservation obligatoire).

Édith Butler, the grande dame of Acadian song, returns to the Palais Montcalm for two rare and intimate concerts, during which she will revisit songs from her vast repertoire, including selections from her recent album, Le Tour du grand bois, accompanied by her three musicians. It is a unique opportunity to experience her artistry and remarkable energy up close! Described by writer Françoise Mallet-Joris as a “mischievous sprite who juggles words as deftly as the instruments she handles with wonderful dexterity,” Édith Butler has had the gift of carrying Acadia with her wherever she performs for more than six decades. This special event will be complemented on March 14 at 1:30 p.m. by a free Paroles et musique talk (reservation required).

When a violist as radiant and widely respected meets a pianist with an inventive and evocative touch, one can only expect a truly unique experience. La première partie du spectacle raconte l’histoire de Laura, une jeune danseuse cubaine émigrée en Espagne et rêvant de devenir danseuse de flamenco. Arrivée en terre gitane, elle rencontre un jeune danseur de flamenco qui tombe amoureux d’elle. Cette romance est interrompue par l’apparition d’un torero triomphant, admiré de tous. Passion et jalousie s’installent. Mais le destin est parfois fatal à l’amour. Un jour, dans l’arène, le torero succombe sous la charge du taureau. Laura doit surmonter ce chagrin, et sa soif de vivre la pousse à le surmonter par la danse. Cette histoire d’amour est racontée à travers diverses chorégraphies, chants et guitare flamenco. L’atmosphère de chaque scène rend hommage aux grands peintres espagnols : Picasso, Miró, Goya et Dalí. La deuxième partie du spectacle, vous mènera dans un voyage musical, de chant et de danse, dans le plus pur style des « tablaos flamenco » typiques d´Espagne. Chaque danseur donnera le meilleur de lui-même avec des chorégraphies individuelles éblouissantes qui enflammeront le public. Les danseurs Agustín Barajas, Gad de la Fuente et Laura García font partie de la nouvelle génération montante des danseurs du flamenco contemporains. Laura Garcia, danseuse, a participée dans divers événements nationaux et internationaux. Établie á Córdoba, Laura participe aux évènements et festivals flamenco. Dernièrement, elle a monté avec succès les œuvres Sireré et Cruzando Mares; fait une tournée en Chine et participe au Festival Fusion Granada 2031. Agustín Barajas, danseur. Il a fait de nombreuses tournées internationales : Europe, Asie et aux États-Unis. Il a dansé avec le Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, avec les stars Eva Yerbabuena, Mariquilla, Rafael Amargo et du chanteur Miguel Poveda. Gad de la Fuente, danseur. Il a étudié le ballet, la danse contemporaine et le flamenco. Il se produit régulièrement dans les tablaos les plus importants de Madrid, tels que Casa Patas, Las Tablas, Centro Cultural Flamenco de Madrid, Las Carboneras. Danseur étoile du spectacle Lorca es Flamenco. Ces magnifiques danseurs sont accompagnés par le son de la guitare flamenca, du chanteur et percussionnistes. Tous ces artistes virtuoses vous feront vivre une nuit magique et vous transporteront au cœur même de l’Espagne gitane. Flamenco Alegría est un spectacle d’une durée de deux heures avec entracte de 20 minutes.

The first part of the performance tells the story of Laura, a young Cuban dancer who emigrates to Spain, dreaming of becoming a flamenco dancer. Upon arriving in Gypsy lands, she meets a young flamenco dancer who falls in love with her. This romance is interrupted by the appearance of a triumphant torero, admired by all. Passion and jealousy take hold, but destiny is sometimes fatal to love. One day, in the arena, the torero succumbs to the charge of the bull. Laura must overcome her grief, and her thirst for life drives her to rise above it through dance. This love story is told through a series of choreographies, songs, and flamenco guitar pieces. The atmosphere of each scene pays tribute to the great Spanish painters: Picasso, Miró, Goya, and Dalí. The second part of the show takes you on a musical journey of song and dance in the purest style of traditional Spanish flamenco tablaos. Each dancer gives their very best in dazzling solo choreographies that will set the audience ablaze. Dancers Agustín Barajas, Gad de la Fuente, and Laura García are part of the rising new generation of contemporary flamenco dancers. Laura García, dancer, has participated in numerous national and international events. Based in Córdoba, she regularly takes part in flamenco events and festivals. Recently, she successfully created the works Sireré and Cruzando Mares, toured China, and participated in the Fusion Granada 2031 Festival. Agustín Barajas, dancer, has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Depuis la sortie de son premier album en 1993, Thomas Fersen s’est imposé comme un auteur-compositeur-interprète incontournable, un poète de la chanson française à l’esprit malicieux. Quelque trente ans après Le bal des oiseaux, son premier opus fondateur, Fersen revient avec Le choix de la reine, un projet irrésistible, qui est l’occasion de revoir son répertoire sous un angle nouveau. Fersen a fait appel au Trio SR9 et à l’arrangeur Clément Ducol, oscarisé pour la bande-originale du film Emilia Perez. Ses chansons se trouvent enveloppées de sonorités envoûtantes, portées par le xylophone, le vibraphone, le glockenspiel, le marimba et le piano. Since the release of his debut album in 1993, Thomas Fersen has established himself as an essential singer-songwriter, a poet of French chanson with a mischievous spirit. Nearly thirty years after Le bal des oiseaux, his seminal first album, Fersen returns with Le choix de la reine, an irresistible project that offers a fresh perspective on his repertoire. For this project, Fersen collaborated with the Trio SR9 and arranger Clément Ducol, Oscar-winning for the score of Emilia Perez.
