Flleur est une DJ disco mexicano-canadienne basée à Montréal. Sa musique est axée sur la house vocale, le disco, la new wave et la techno. Elle fréquente des salles de Montréal et d’ailleurs, notamment The Echo (LA), Le Système, Datcha, Barbossa, Le Mal Nécessaire et Vino Disco. Parmi ses récents concerts notables, citons Piknic, la Nuit Blanche de l’IglooFest, l’Après-Ski 2025 de l’IglooFest en première partie de Young Marco, la première partie de Molchat Doma à Los Angeles et sa résidence au Vino Disco en 2024. Flleur est la cofondatrice d’Also Cool Mag et anime son émission de radio sur N10.as.

Flleur is a Mexican-Canadian disco DJ based in Montreal. She plays leans towards vocal-driven house, disco, new wave and techno. She frequents venues around Montreal and beyond, including The Echo (LA), Le Système, Datcha, Barbossa, Le Mal Nécessaire, and Vino Disco. Journaliste musical depuis une bonne vingtaine d’années et animateur à ICI Musique, il a développé un sens de la sélection musicale raffinée, yet bangin’. En tant que co-animateur et scénariste de la série-documentaire Les racines du hip-hop au Québec (Télé-Québec) il a découvert des gems d’ici qui rehaussent ses sets avec une saveur locale unique.

Curator, ambiance-maker, and finesse-master, Félix B. Desfossés is an experienced DJ. His sets are woven with a warm and vibrant throughline, navigating between soul, jazz, funk, disco, rap, house, and afrobeat. His 100% vinyl performances are particularly appreciated at Sans Soleil (Montreal), where his name is listed among the ultra-selective regulars. A music journalist for over twenty years and a host at ICI Musique, he has developed a refined yet bangin’ sense of musical selection. As a co-host and writer for the documentary series The Roots of Hip-Hop in Quebec (Télé-Québec), he has uncovered local gems that add a unique local flavor to his sets.

Together they represent the rise of the “plug” music craze in Quebec hip-hop with several compatriots such as Monsi, Monzo & Trapmat Savior, to name a few. Born in Portugal, Kinji00 first became known on social media, accumulating nearly 5 million views on TikTok by loudly chanting that “his favorite flower is the fleur-de-lis.”

Originaire de Saint-Hyacinthe, Alphonse Bisaillon a étudié la musique et la littérature. L’année 2022 marque un tournant décisif dans sa carrière : il participe à Ma Première Place-des-Arts et signe avec la maison de disques L-A be. Alphonse Bisaillon se distingue par l’utilisation d’images évocatrices, de trames narratives riches et de jeux de mots ingénieux. Chaque composition est minutieusement ciselée pour créer une expérience véritablement immersive. Alphonse Bisaillon ose explorer de nouveaux territoires sonores, mêlant habilement différents types d’influences musicales. C’est un projet de chanson qui doit beaucoup à Aznavour ; une symphonie éclectique qui séduit et surprend à chaque écoute. Son EP éponyme est paru le 28 octobre 2022 sous l’étiquette L-A be. Ce dernier a été réalisé par François Richard et enregistré aux Studio B-12 et Studio Le Hublot. Au nombre des distinctions reçues figurent l’Étoile Montante Stingray, le Prix Belle et Bum Télé-Québec, le Prix du public Hydro-Québec, la Bourse Sirius XM, le prix Chanson actuelle Sirius XM, le Prix Mouffe 2024 et le Prix Coup de pouce PURCOM à l’édition 2024 de Vue sur la relève. Par ailleurs, il se retrouve au nombre des Coup de cœur de l’année du journal Le Droit.

Originally from Saint-Hyacinthe, Alphonse Bisaillon studied music and literature. The year 2022 marked a turning point in his career: he took part in Ma Première Place des Arts and signed with the record label L-A be. Alphonse Bisaillon stands out through his use of evocative imagery, rich narrative threads, and clever wordplay. Each composition is carefully crafted to create a truly immersive experience. He dares to explore new sonic territories, skillfully blending a variety of musical influences. His project owes much to Aznavour—a bold, eclectic symphony that both charms and surprises with every listen. His self-titled EP was released on October 28, 2022, under the L-A be label. It was produced by François Richard and recorded at Studio B-12 and Studio Le Hublot. Among the awards he has received are the Stingray Rising Star Award, the Belle et Bum Télé-Québec Award, the Hydro-Québec Audience Award, the Sirius XM Grant, the Sirius XM Contemporary Song Award, the Mouffe Award 2024, and the PURCOM Boost Award at the 2024 edition of Vue sur la relève. He was also named one of the year’s “Coup de cœur” (favorites) by Le Droit newspaper.

Loïc Lafrance (17h30)

Loïc Lafrance est un.e auteur.e-compositeur.rice-interprète sorti.e tout droit du Bas-Saint-Laurent. Maintenant installé.e à Québec, l’artiste s’est lancé dans l’autoproduction en 2020, et un album (Le monde des adultes) et un EP (THÉÂTRE/VIOLENCE) sont nés directement de sa chambre. Le EP juxtaposait ses parcours en art et en sociologie et iel y exprimait sa frustration d’un système où les marginaux n’ont pas les mêmes chances que les personnes qui se situent au centre du spectre de la normativité sociale. Le.a jeune bigarré.e s’est entre autres fait remarquer au Cabaret Festif où iel a été nommé.e coup de cœur du public, au Grand Concours du Festival international de la chanson de Granby et à la dixième saison de La Voix sur les ondes de TVA. En mai 2024, Loïc Lafrance s’est hissé à la troisième marche du podium lors de la 28e édition du prestigieux concours des Francouvertes à Montréal. En septembre 2024, iel dévoile « La peur est une fleur », un album réalisé par Julien Mineau (Malajube). La musique prend ses inspirations du rock des années 2000, avec une plume imagée et symbolique. Accompagnée d’un son brut alliant grunge et pop, sa performance est d’un théâtral sincère. C’est un projet multidisciplinaire qui conjugue un son engagé et désinvolte à une mise en scène lumineuse, survoltée et maximaliste.

Loïc Lafrance is a singer-songwriter from the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. Now based in Quebec City, the artist began self-producing in 2020, and an album (Le monde des adultes) and an EP (THÉÂTRE/VIOLENCE) were born directly from his bedroom. The EP juxtaposed his backgrounds in art and sociology, and in it, he expressed his frustration with a system where marginalized people don’t have the same opportunities as those at the center of the social norm. This young, colorful artist has garnered attention, among other things, at the Cabaret Festif, where he was named Audience Favorite, at the Grand Concours du Festival international de la chanson de Granby, and on the tenth season of La Voix on TVA. In May 2024, Loïc Lafrance reached the third step of the podium at the 28th edition of the prestigious Francouvertes competition in Montreal. In September 2024, they released “La peur est une fleur,” an album produced by Julien Mineau (Malajube). The music draws inspiration from 2000s rock, with a visual and symbolic style. Accompanied by a raw sound combining grunge and pop, their performance is sincerely theatrical. It’s a multidisciplinary project that combines a committed and casual sound with a luminous, high-energy, and maximalist staging.

Blacklife, de son vrai nom Alexis Perron Blais, jeune rappeur de 23 ans, originaire de Rouyn-Noranda. Auteur et interprète, il a déjà à son actif 2 albums. Son premier opus, intitulé « Le P’tit Gars du Nord », a vu le jour en 2022, suivi rapidement en 2023 par son deuxième album, « Mauvaize Expérience ». Entre ces deux projets, un EP réalisé en collaboration avec Tel Kel et Farfadet, intitulé « Délire », a vu le jour. Il travaille présentement sur son 3e album intitulé « Mes repères » qui sortiras en novembre 2025, si vous le voyez ce produire sur une scène d’ici-là, vous pourriez bien entendre une ou deux exclusivités de cette opus. Passionné et investi dans ses créations, Blacklife se distingue par une plume sombre, retranscrivant ses expériences les plus noires comme les plus lumineuses. Sa musique dégage à la fois une colère brûlante et un amour profond. Fièrement marqué du 819 dans son cœur, sa fierté transparaît à travers chacun de ses textes. Celui qui forge le pont entre Montréal et Paris, Rowjay est un rappeur d’origine Italo-Québécoise originaire du quartier Saint-Léonard. Après avoir rempli La Cigale, la mythique salle parisienne et le Club Soda de Montréal, Rowjay revient avec La Vie Rapide Deluxe, une réedition haute en couleur de son projet acclamé La Vie Rapide.

The one who forges the bridge between Montreal and Paris, Rowjay is a rapper of Italian-Québécois origin from the Saint-Léonard district. Shreez (22h)

Originaire du quartier Fabreville à Laval, Shawn Volcy, plus connu sous le nom de Shreez est un incontournable de la scène Hip-Hop. Il a connu le succès dès ses débuts en lançant avec son groupe, Canicule, un mouvement qui a donné un nouveau souffle au rap québécois. Ses paroles mêlant le joual au slang montréalais sur de la musique entraînante, lui a valu de remporter le prix SOCAN 2019. Membre fondateur de Canicule, son premier album solo « On Frap » a dépassé les 12 millions de streams sur toutes les plateformes.

Hailing from the Fabreville neighborhood of Laval, Shawn Volcy, better known as Shreez, is a staple of the hip-hop scene. He achieved success from the very beginning, launching a movement with his group, Canicule, that breathed new life into Quebec rap. His lyrics, blending joual with Montreal slang over catchy music, earned him the 2019 SOCAN award. Visage familier de la communauté musicale de la côte Ouest, Handsome Tiger a participé à de nombreux concerts et a accumulé une collection impressionnante d’albums. Handsome Tiger, an Anishinaabe Métis and North African music producer/DJ hailing from Turtle Island and currently based in Vancouver, BC, blends traditional sounds from his heritage with other Indigenous and contemporary electronic bass music. LANDROSE est le projet solo de David Temprano, également membre du groupe Cere. Fusionnant musique électronique, expérimentale et sampling, avec une batterie aux influences noise-punk, il explore des sonorités audacieuses et un univers musical unique. Après un premier EP Self-Titled en 2022, son premier album Saveur Pey en 2024, LANDROSE revient déjà avec son nouvel album BRUT sous le label Hyperjungle Recordings. L’album a été conçu au fil des concerts, les morceaux se modifiant et évoluant à chaque performance. Il incarne une version plus affinée et énergique du projet, mettant en avant des compositions qui fusionnent la spontanéité du live et l’intensité d’une performance en solo. En concert, David déploie une énergie brute et immersive, tout en restant fidèle à une approche DIY et authentique.

LANDROSE is the solo project of David Temprano, also a member of the band Cere. Bad Waitress (1h)

Bad Waitress est un groupe punk-rock artistique et angoissé originaire de Toronto, en Ontario. Ils mélangent un punk rapide et direct avec des breakdowns sludgeux et indulgents et des riffs étrangement tordus. Ils ont sorti leur premier EP, le bien nommé Party Bangers Volume 1 en 2018, suivi d’un LP en 2021, No Taste. Bad Waitress is an artsy angsty firefuck punkish band from Toronto, Ontario. They mix fast, to the point punk with sludgey indulgent breakdowns and uncanny twisted riffs. They put out their first EP, the aptly named Party Bangers Volume 1 in 2018, followed by an LP in 2021, No Taste. They’ve toured North America and the UK with bands like Subhumans, Protest the Hero, NOFX and Jack White, and plan on releasing their next record very soon.

FME : Fleur de Peau au Polonais Cocktail Bar

Le projet musical synth-pop Fleur de Peau est né en janvier 2023. Il est composé de Louis Fernandez, multi instrumentiste-réalisateur et Élie Dubois-Sénéchal à la voix. Le duo a décidé de joindre leur force et leur créativité pour faire naître un projet plus grand qu’eux, en honneur de leur amour commun pour l’art et la musique. Le son de Fleur de Peau est mélancolique, percutant et poétique. C’est un projet qui témoigne tantôt d’une réalité Queer et féministe, tantôt d’une approche personnelle et émotive de l’urgence de vivre. Avec le rythme de batteries teinté de réverbération et de drum machine robotique, on reconnait dans la musique de Fleur de Peau une influence des années 80 tout en restant ancré dans un son moderne et alternatif. On y entend des synthétiseurs brillants et des guitares tantôt dynamiques, tantôt lo-fi et sombres. Sans être minimalistes, les arrangements ne voilent pas l’essentiel. Le groupe a sorti un premier album au printemps 2024 dans lequel chacune des chansons possède son univers bien à elle. On peut y reconnaitre des influences électro, punk, dreampop et indie rock. On y trouve des mélodies vocales caressantes et des guitares dissonantes et abrasives.

The synth-pop music project Fleur de Peau was born in January 2023. It consists of Louis Fernandez, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, and Élie Dubois-Sénéchal on vocals. The duo decided to combine their strengths and creativity to give life to a project greater than themselves, in honor of their shared love for art and music. The sound of Fleur de Peau is melancholic, powerful, and poetic. It’s a project that at times reflects a Queer and feminist reality, and at other times offers a personal and emotional perspective on the urgency of living. With drum rhythms tinged with reverb and robotic drum machine beats, Fleur de Peau’s music carries a strong influence from the 1980s, while remaining rooted in a modern, alternative sound. You’ll hear shimmering synthesizers and guitars that range from energetic to lo-fi and dark. While not minimalist, the arrangements never obscure the essence of the music. The group released their debut album in spring 2024, with each track presenting its own distinct universe. The album draws influences from electro, punk, dreampop, and indie rock. It features tender vocal melodies alongside dissonant and abrasive guitars.

FME 2024 Day 2 and 3 | Definitely a Hip-Hop City

Souldia repeated it a few times on Friday: this was its biggest show ever in Abitibi. For a market of this size, it was indeed considerable. And totally justified. Rouyn-Noranda is a hip-hop town, and also the home of Steve Jolin, whose 7eme Ciel label is a pillar of Quebec’s musical ecosystem.

Several keb rap headliners took to the FME main stage. This region is also home to Zach Zoya, who is very much in evidence this weekend as a distinguished guest, notably at Haviah Mighty, Prix Polaris 2019, on stage on Saturday.

But the one to whom we gave the most flashes, the one who brings people together the most, is undoubtedly Souldia. And with good reason: the boots follow the lips when it comes to defending the material on stage, including the best salvos from Non Conventionnel or excerpts from Portrait Robot performed with fellow bandmate Lost. Can’t wait for the new album in the making.

Hellish stage presence, superior tone, and a formidable machine behind him to perform in real time. Souldia has truly built his identity as an artist who has arrived at the top of keb rap. His connection with the largest portion of keb rap fans is no accident. He graffitied just enough, quickly brought himself back into line, and eventually won over as many fans as possible.

Lost performed at the Petit Théâtre du Vieux Noranda, adjacent to the main stage aisle. An excellent set from the poetic MC, the MTL rapper commands respect. His pen is razor-sharp, his words direct and to the point, his syllables punchy and his stage presence authoritative. And, needless to say, a return visit from Souldia, still pumped up. The next day, the main stage on 7th Street was packed again for another program of rap keb with LaF, Haviah Mighty and Loud Lary Ajust reunited in the context of the 10th anniversary Blue Volvo tour. Indeed, it’s a cause for celebration in the always astonishing city of hip-hop, Rouyn-Noranda.

FME 2024 : Avec pas d’casque et Myriam Gendron

Mayday est le troisième LP de l’artiste montréalaise Myriam Gendron, faisant suite à ses albums acclamés Not So Deep As A Well (2014) et Ma délire – Songs of love, lost & found (2021). Myriam, qui a commencé comme musicienne de rue à Paris, a découvert la poésie de Dorothy Parker en travaillant dans une librairie à Montréal, ce qui l’a inspirée pour son premier album. Après une brève pause, elle a exploré les traditions folkloriques québécoises dans Ma délire. Mayday mélange des chansons originales en anglais et en français avec des éléments traditionnels et avant-gardistes, en collaboration avec des artistes comme le batteur Jim White et la saxophoniste Zoh Amba.

Mayday is the third LP from Montreal artist Myriam Gendron, following her acclaimed albums Not So Deep As A Well (2014) and Ma délire – Songs of love, lost & found (2021). Myriam, who started out as a street musician in Paris, discovered the poetry of Dorothy Parker while working in a bookshop in Montreal, which inspired her first album. After a brief hiatus, she explored Quebec folk traditions in Ma délire. Mayday blends original songs in English and French with traditional and avant-garde elements, in collaboration with artists such as drummer Jim White and saxophonist Zoh Amba.

Formé par Stéphane Lafleur (guitare, voix) et Joël Vaudreuil (batterie), rejoints par Nicolas Moussette (basse, lapsteel) et Mathieu Charbonneau (euphonium, claviers), le groupe offre des performances folk intimistes captivantes. Leur premier album, « Trois chaudières de sang », a été acclamé par la critique et nominé à l’ADISQ. En 2012, « Astronomie » a marqué les esprits avec ses sonorités atmosphériques et a remporté de nombreux prix. Après une pause de 8 ans, ils sont de retour en studio, prêts à offrir des spectacles inoubliables !
