Twin Tribes

Twin Tribes est un duo texan composé d’artistes mexicano-américains. Leur fascination pour les années 80 et leur travail dans un style rappelant une version plus sombre de Depeche Mode en ont fait l’un des groupes les plus importants du genre aux États-Unis.

Twin Tribes is a Texas-based duo of Mexican-American artists. Their fascination with the 80s and their work in the style of a darker version of Depeche Mode made them one of the most important bands in the genre in the US.

The Chameleons

Le groupe de pop atmosphérique The Chameleons s’est formé à Manchester, en Angleterre, en 1981, sur les cendres de plusieurs groupes locaux : le chanteur et bassiste Mark Burgess venait des Cliches, les guitaristes Reg Smithies et Dave Fielding des Years, et le batteur John Lever (qui a rapidement remplacé le membre fondateur Brian Schofield) avait joué avec les Politicians. Après s’être fait remarquer grâce à une série de sessions pour la BBC, The Chameleons ont signé avec Epic et ont fait leurs débuts en mars 1982 avec le single intense et sombre “In Shreds”, produit par Steve Lillywhite.

The atmospheric pop band the Chameleons formed in Manchester, England, in 1981 from the ashes of a number of local groups: vocalist/bassist Mark Burgess began with the Cliches, guitarists Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding arrived from the Years, and drummer John Lever (who quickly replaced founding member Brian Schofield) originated with the Politicians. After establishing themselves with a series of high-profile BBC sessions, the Chameleons signed to Epic and debuted with the tense, moody single “In Shreds,” produced by Steve Lillywhite and released in March 1982.

Group Project au Théâtre Fairmount

Group Project est un trio de Montréal, Canada qui fait de la musique alternative-pop. Les débuts du groupe remontent à 2015 quand Jeremy Harbec rencontre Jacob Brown et qu’ils commencent à expérimenter avec des beats EDM & Pop dans la chambre à coucher/studio de Jeremy. En 2016 le duo commence à sortir leurs chansons sur SoundCloud. C’est alors qu’Alex Remington se joint à Jeremy et Jacob pour former Group Project et qu’ils commencent à enregistrer leurs premières chansons ensemble. Les vocales étaient alors enregistrées de façon créative sous des couvertures et les guitares étaient enregistrées avec des micros tenus manuellement puisque le groupe ne possédait pas encore de stands à micros. Le gérant d’artiste, Stéphane McGarry, promenait un jour son chien quand la mère d’Alex (la fan #1 de Group Project!) lui suggéra d’écouter les chansons du groupe. La fille de Stéphane entendit les chansons qu’il écoutait et lui dit que tous les ados à son école écoutaient déjà ces chansons. Deux ans plus tard, Group Project établit un partenariat avec Spectra Musique et Evenko et le groupe a hâte de continuer à progresser en 2021. Le plus récent single du groupe ‘Settle Down’ est sorti le 28 mai dernier.

Group Project is an alternative-pop trio based out of Montreal, Canada. The band can trace its roots back to 2015 when Jeremy Harbec met Jacob Brown, to experiment with EDM & Pop beats in Jeremy’s bedroom studio. They began to release their songs on SoundCloud in 2016. Alex Remington soon joined the picture, and Group Project began recording its first few songs. Vocals were recorded creatively under blankets, and guitars were recorded by hand-held microphones since the trio did not have mic-stands. The band’s manager, Stephane McGarry, was walking his dog one day when Alex’s mom (Group Project’s biggest fan) convinced him to give the band’s music a listen. Stephane’s daughter heard the songs playing in the background and informed him that all the kids were listening to it at her school. Two years later, Group Project has partnered with Spectra Musique and Evenko and the band is looking forward to taking strides forward in 2021. The band’s single ‘Settle Down’ was released on May 28th.

Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques 2025 : Mystery of Clock

Pénétrez dans un univers insaisissable avec la grande première de Mystery of clock! Cet étourdissant projet interdisciplinaire de la percussionniste Aiyun Huang et du violoniste Mark Fewer se tiendra dans le cadre unique du Théâtre Plaza.
Ce projet, en gestation depuis quelques années, fusionne théâtre, danse et musique dans une dramaturgie saisissante où les frontières entre la réalité et la fantaisie s’effacent. Mystery of Clock nous invite à explorer la notion du temps qui passe en nous offrant une performance multimédia de haute intensité combinant l’éclairage, le geste, l’audiovisuel, la mise en scène, le texte, le violon et la percussion. Les musiciens, explorant la création sous toutes ses formes, nous emportent ainsi dans les méandres de la création totale.

Several years in the making, this project fuses theatre, dance and music in a gripping dramaturgy that obscures the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Mystery of Clock invites us to explore the notion of time passing through a high-intensity multimedia performance combining lighting, gesture, audiovisuals, staging, text, violin and percussion. The musicians, exploring creation in all its forms, take us on a meandering journey of total creation.

ROLE MODEL est le nom de scène de Tucker Pillsbury, un chanteur et compositeur dont le traitement des émotions complexes contraste avec ses voix mesurées et sa préférence pour une pop décontractée, souvent agrémentée de rythmes acoustiques. Moins d’un an après avoir auto-édité son premier EP, il signe un contrat avec Interscope grâce à Benny Blanco et son label Mad Love. Son affiliation avec un label majeur a donné naissance aux EPs Oh, How Perfect (2019) et Our Little Angel (2020), ainsi qu’à son premier album complet, Rx (2022), marqué par une touche amoureuse. Après une paire de singles indépendants, il a sorti un nouvel album, Kansas Anymore, en 2024.

ROLE MODEL is the alias of Tucker Pillsbury, a singer/songwriter whose processing of complex emotions is belied by his restrained vocals and preference for easygoing and often strummy pop. Le producteur de musique expérimentale Nicolas Jaar et son guitariste de tournée Dave Harrington ont formé Darkside en duo et ont reçu de nombreuses éloges pour leur premier album studio, Psychic (2013), ainsi que pour leurs concerts intenses et expansifs, documentés sur des sorties comme Psychic Live July 17 2014 (2020). Après avoir rendu leurs transitions moins visibles avec Spiral (2021), ils ont intégré Tlacael Esparza, présenté sur Live at Spiral House (2023). La sortie de Graucha Max (2024), leur premier single en tant que trio, a coïncidé avec le début d’une vaste tournée transcontinentale.

There’s no mistaking the Southern roots of the Red Clay Strays, a band that straddles the line separating Americana and contemporary country. Hailing from Alabama, the quintet fuse Southern rock with an outlaw stance, anchoring their swagger with a heavy dose of soul and the sharp, brawny literary bent of Red Dirt country. All this was evident on their raw, picturesque 2022 debut album, Moment of Truth, which bore “Wondering Why,” a slow-burning love song that became a viral hit.
