“Little hellions kids feeling rebellious”… Kaya Hoax’s newest single “Hot Girls with ADD” is a drum n’ bass alt hip-hop duet with Magi Merlin, and though I couldn’t really understand what to make of it, I wanted more. A bit UK grime mixed with some raucous hyperpop and bars dropped by both Kaya and Magi as synth chords bang the speakers, this track is taking names. The lyric video features Kaya and Magi Merlin sitting next to each other on what looks like an old-school Mac, absentmindedly doing their nails, as the lyrics pop up on the screen in pixelated animation and they exchange bratty, teenage-fueled verses. The video feels very DIY from the Myspace era, coming before Kaya Hoax’s debut EP, Baby Gear in late May.
