Sometimes you need to swap your cool all-black going-out uniform for a shiny silk blouse, and Alt House is the ideal soundtrack for getting a little wine-drunk with your friends and dancing in the kitchen into the wee hours of the morning.
As a collaboration between Regularfantasy and disco funk man, Kristian North, this EP is a blend of groovy house and cheeky pop, with all the glitz and glamour of disco paired with cutesy-casual lyrics that bring it back down to earth. “Take Me To Your Mansion” tells the classic tale of seeking an elusive and enchanting afterparty at a rich girl’s house, complete with sparkly synths and flirty pick-up lines. “Take My Picture (Mops Out Mix)” has a trance-y, shimmery feel to its production that I think would make it a perfect addition to any New Year’s Eve party playlist.
