The Montreal ensemble Kleztory returns with an eighth album and in full possession of their means. Eight compositions with folk, Celtic, Turkish, classical, jazz, and many other influences, always rooted in the Eastern European klezmer tradition. Each member of the ensemble, except for the accordionist, has contributed, and there is no clash of genres, no incoherent imbalance. The melodic lines are beautiful, carried by each soloist with conviction and great expressive talent.
What to say? Pleasure, beauty, talent, emotion. A very successful album.
Elvira Misbakhova, viola
Mélanie Bergeron, accordion Raphaël D’Amours, guitar Mark Peetsma, double bass David Ryshpan, piano
Airat Ichmouratov, clarinet
The album Rendez-Vous will be performed in concert at the Classica Festival on Saturday, May 30.
