The latest major studio album from the best Canadian rock band, Darker Circles features a number of stylistic breaks for the band, and they all fit very well. With Gary Louris of the Jawhawks producing, they gave birth to a more composed, arranged and textured record, without breaking away from their characteristic garage spirit. It’s an album of broken hearts and disillusionment, with the beautiful “Tell Her What I Said” as the main event, and a vast array of stellar soarings of six strings all around. Classic.
