Conceived at the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, in the context of a film shot in a combat zone, Ben Frost composed a work parallel to the ghastly experience he was living at the time. Evocations of war and catastrophe run through this recording, which is sometimes very violent, but also very lyrical and even epic. Working from dark reflections on human madness and nature unleashed, the composer has created a work that is simply amazing, one that follows the most brutal trends in electro… and from which great beauty emerges.
